Whether your goal is to learn new skills, improve your college resume, or work within the industry, Newport Harbor Performing Arts Academy is the perfect place to build this foundation. And as a student here, you will have access to our amazing, supportive network throughout your time studying, while applying for college, searching for a job, and as an alumni.
We’re dedicated to teaching the skills and providing the hands-on experience necessary for successful futures, both personally and professionally.

JOINING NEWPORT HARBOR PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
You are free to join whichever performing arts classes you are interested in. You can choose from our Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Theater, or Dance disciplines with options to interweave between different electives. This means you could be a full-time vocal music student while taking dance and theater at the same time.*
In order to be a part of the Newport Harbor Performing Arts Academy you must maintain good academic standing with all academic courses at Newport Harbor. This means a minimum GPA of 2.0, well-maintained attendance record, and be on track for graduation.

PERFORMANCES
We have a variety of performance options in our performance calendar. Some performances will require concurrent enrollment in a class (Aeries, Vocal Music concerts, etc.) while other performances are audition-only (stage plays, musicals, open mic nights, etc.). From dance shows to full stage musical productions, you have various opportunities to show off your performance skills.
TALK TO YOUR COUNSELOR
Enrolling into our academy is easy. Some classes require placement auditions and some are sign up only. For the most up-to-date information check out our class information on our website or contact the program director.
Once you have decided which classes you want to join, you can ask your counselor about fitting them into your class schedule. There are options to take classes as a 6th, 7th, or 8th class.*
